The article points out that "Even the Press-Record's name on the front of the building has been removed to make way for a much-anticipated youth center."
Now, I must say... Thomas, Matthew, and I drove by here after work, in-between a trip through the car wash and a trip through Arby's drive-through, and it appears that the only thing that's been done is removing the Press-Record's name from the front of the building.
That and parking a couple of trailer dumpsters beside the building.
It looks like a mess, and I can't imagine how on earth they think it's going to be a "teen center" in three months. On top of that, I don't think they'll come close to breaking even, when it will be open "to the Granite City kids especially at an affordable cost."
But I'm all for it, and will keep an eye on the progress. It's something that my dad has dreamed of for Granite City for years.
